But I did want to include an example of Davis' book illustration style, which is distinctly different from his usual cartoon approach.<br /><br />Also <i>Flashback</i> magazine, which Russ Jones and I edited in the early 1970s. All three issues had Davis covers. One showed Bogart holding a limp Woody Woodpecker, but I should have done a rough because my gag got lost when Russ described it to Davis and forgot to mention that it was supposed to be a <i>statue</i> of Woody Woodpecker (as a reference to <i>The Maltese Falcon</i>).Bhobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13281438622988146331noreply@blogger.com
