The Independent has an interview with PERSEPOLIS graphic novelist Marjane Satrapi by Robert Chalmers. She's formed a production company to produce a movie version of her graphic novel.
-----
The Iranian artist, widely recognised as the most significant new talent in the world of the graphic novel, is at that most exhilarating stage of a career: still unknown to many, even in France, but on the verge of major international fame.
-----
The interview has some explicit language and Ms. Satrapi does not mince words nor suffer fools.
Above: an unsold cartoon I drew. I remember showing it to Bob Mankoff, and he asked who Marjan [sic] Satrapi was. That was over a year ago. I don't think he'd ask that today!
