Clothing designer Todd Goldman has apparently taken a cartoon that was on the Web (left) and redrawn it (right). Mr. Goldman is now making money selling "his" design on t-shirts. And this isn't the first time he's plagiarized other people's work.
I don't know very much about either of the people involved in this, beyond
reading THE BEAT's succinct retelling. Copying someone else's work is wrong (a HUGE no no that I learned waaay back when from Mrs. Berg's first grade class at Roosevelt Elementary in Iowa City). Saying what you did was a "legitimate reappropriation" is just so much baloney. Mr. Goldman is not an artist (OK, maybe a "rip-off artist"); he's a THIEF.
