"[Editorial cartoonists] ain't even disturbing the peace with their timorous approach to trivia." That was fifty years ago when all papers had their own editorial cartoonists. What would Doerer think of today's market of mostly homogeneous cartoons for the syndicated market, where the majority of cartoonists have to please the lowest common denominator to make a living.
