Jim Galloway: Going Home

Above: a surviving drawing from 1945 on notebook paper by AJC columnist Jim Galloway's Dad.

For this Veteran's Day, Atlanta Journal Constitution columnist Jim Galloway writes about his Dad, who turns 87 this month. Jim's Dad liked to draw and was particularly fond of Bill Mauldin.

"Though none of them were born in this country, four of the seven Galloway brothers would scatter themselves across the globe during World War II. Dad was the youngest, and the only one to carry a sketch book.

"He’s the only one left."

The rest of Mr. Galloway's thoughtful column is here.
