James Stevenson: The New Yorker Confidential

Veteran cartoonist James Stevenson hand-writes and draws stories about New York City and his life from time to time for the New York Times. In today's New York Times "Lost & Found" he recounts early days when he worked The New Yorker magazine's offices as a teen office boy, with descriptions of the people who worked there ("Never say 'hello' to Mr. Ross!") and how to sharpen pencils for E.B. White. And, later on, he shares how writing gags part-time lead to a full-time job with the magazine (with one SERIOUS caveat from the cartoon editor). Some grand remembrances here, well worth reading.
