Video: Satirical Magazine Offices Destroyed

Paris: The offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo were firebombed. The building is "a big mess" and the place destroyed.

The day before, the new issue, with a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad on its cover, appeared on the stands.

Investigations editor Laurent Leger told BBC News:

"I don't have any regrets, I'm proud of this publication. We discussed the possibility of a big debate, because debating is normal, it's logical in a democracy. I mean you can talk and talk and write but not bombings, not to put a bomb in our offices. That's not normal, it's criminal... Not against the offices but against freedom of thinking, of writing and publishing."
