Here are some cartoons from MY SON THE MEDICINE MAN, a 1964 Avon paperback that is copyright its cartoonist, the
New Yorker's Dana Fradon.
The book achieves its comic result with deception, either in the case of the bragging mother (always on the left side of the page) or the son (on the right).
There may be a few references that may not resonate today (the controversial water fluoridation, dice are called "bones"), but all in all a very fun, rare book with a breezy, confident line by Mr. Fradon.
