W. Heath Robinson: Crazy Contraptions and Lavish Illustrations



Here's a short video from AbeBooks.

"Has anyone ever described something to you using the phrase "It's a real Heath Robinson"? If so, then 1) they were probably British; and 2) what they were trying to tell you was that something was unnecessarily complicated."

But in America, we say "that's a real Rube Goldberg."



AbeBooks has put out this video, which held my interest and reminded me how good W. Heath Robinson was. Isn't it fascinating that he only drew his cartoons to make money and that his real passion was painting pastoral scenes.
