Many happy returns to Creig Flessel.
Creig was, for many years, the chairman of the Berndt Toast Gang (the job I currently try to do), and he is one of the couple of living guys* who were there at the beginning of comics. He worked in comic strips, comic books, advertising, you name it.
* The other guys that come to mind are Jerry Robinson (created The Joker) , Irwin Hasen (used to double date with Joe Shuster), Stan Goldberg (first job: assisting Carl Burgos at the old Timely Comics offices in the Empire State Building) and maybe a few others.
Thanks to Comics Reporter and Mark Evanier for noting the occasion on their blogs!
