The Mark Stamaty Times Square-Grand Central Shuttle
Mark Alan Stamaty has been part of the NYC cartoon scene for decades now. You might remember his "MacDoodle Street" strip in the Village Voice or "Washingtoon," syndicated by the Washington Post. He was also the political cartoonist for Time Magazine from 1994-96. He created the comic feature "Boox" for the New York Review of Books from 2001 to 2003. He drew nonfiction comics for The New Yorker and other publications. He drew "They Might Be Giants'" first album. He has done magazine covers, children's books and now here he is, underground.
Now his work adorns the Times Square-Grand Central Shuttle, inside and out. While his Facebook has some great photos (one of which is shown above), there is no media coverage of this that I have been able to find. I hope that changes.
If you are in the village, you can see more of his work on and in the Sonos Store.

Wow, amazing. Thanks for posting, Mike.
Yes! When I rode the shuttle today I recognized the style from the Macdoodle Street days. I too thought there'd be more online about this great train art.
