Ronald Searle 1920-2011
Ronald Searle, one of the world's best known cartoonists, died on December 30, 2011 at the age of 91. He died peacefully in his home in Southern France with his children at his side.
The Guardian has a obituary for the St. Trinan's creator here.
Here's a 2010 BBC news interview with Searle upon the occasion of his 90th birthday. It was the first interview he had given in 35 years:

Hat tip to Nancy Beiman for the YouTube interview and to Tom Spurgeon for reminding me of the Searle tribute blog.

Rest in Peace, Ronald Searle, who achieved knighthood at least with us.
It's thanks to you, Paul, that I first saw the amazing sketches he did during the war.
