Local Artists Draw for Local Businesses

As we all know, AI is going after all sorts of jobs now -- including truckers and illustrators. I always thought that to go after illustrators and cartoonists was nonsense. It's not like so many people in the graphics biz are making so much money all of the time. People who draw are like actors. There are people who make Tom Cruise money and then people who make supporting player money. Most are going from gig to gig, with good years and bad. Regardless, AI is here and there are many people and corporations who have embraced the technology. But not all that many up here in New England.

Great to see some local art adorn local businesses. Just in the past couple of days, I’ve seen three examples without trying. Katie Christensen, a Boston-area illustrator, has hand-drawn and colored this week’s Market Basket newspaper flyer. Rebecca Marella’s art is on the windows of The Nook diner in Dover, NH. Local chain Red’s Shoe Barn sells a t-shirt by local artist Nikka R.
