PARADE OF COMICS 1966 Newspaper Comics Council Coloring Book
Many terrific unseen drawings by Harold Gray, Irwin Hasen, Neil Adams, Mell Lazarus, Al Capp, Milton Caniff and others courtesy of the Hairy Green Eyeball blog. So many, it's been sliced into 4 digestible bits:
Part one
Part two
Part three
Part four
H/t to Comics Reporter for this gem!

Hm.. why the balloon/parade theme?
Thanks for the link, Lynch. I am going to pay some attention to Robinson at some point and appreciate those Flubs of his.
Thanks for your note, Ger. Ger does a GREAT blog, by the way!
Wasn't there a long running comic book titled something like COMICS PARADE that was a half-size comic book that kids would get for free inside their shoebox if they bought Buster Brown shoes?
No, maybe it was MARCH OF COMICS. And, no, I'm not going to Google it right now ...
Interesting. I have this same book... except that its cover banner is colored differently and it says Created by 31 Artists, rather than 33. It's missing the Ben Casey material.
I'm doing research on comics exhibitions right now. I wonder if this was related to the Cavalcade of Comics exhibition. It traveled from the World's Fair in 1965 to the Smithsonian in 1966 (and many other places afterword). Many of these same artists did "chalk talks" and PR for the show. Cavalcade, Parade, this would explain the theme. The cover of the Cavalcade program from 1963-65 and this cover have similar illustrations.
