The old 1960s STAR TREK series has gotten a digital space-facelift, with not only renewing the now-dingy colors on the series, but also remastering the series into HD format and inserting new effects. You may know this, and now here's a video that shows you what's been done, and some of the features in the Season One HD-DVD set. The video runs just under 9 minutes.
As fun as that 9 minute one is, I love the one below. I'm linking to it once more since it is funny and short: 1 minute.

I dunno, I have mixed feelings about redoing so much of the show.
I'm not a Trekker/Trekkie/Trucker, but I have a certain fondness for some of the cheesiness.
That being said, that stuff does look cool...
Yes, I saw the official trailer yesterday. Very funny indeed. :-)
Ooops. Video removed on the 9 minute one already.
All vids working OK as of now. Thanks for the heads up, Tom!
I remember one of the jokes back in 1984 was that the then new movie was titled STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY. And that's one of those "it's funny 'cause it's true" phrases.
I agree: it's not TREK. It doesn't look like TREK -- but maybe, just maybe, the story will be good. I hope so.
Then, I don't mind giving Paramount some more money ....
