"Dr. Strange: A Hero of the Mind," an in-depth essay on Steve Ditko's Doctor Strange by Tristan Garcia has been translated from the French collection of essays Vies et morts des super-héros (Paris: PUF, /Humensis, 2016). It's a thorough analysis of what the initial concept was about and who Doctor Strange was in Ditko's stories and the character's relationship with the rest of the Marvel Universe. Some fascinating material here and it makes me want to grab all those early comic book stories and reread them.
