Above house ad for Gates Features from Cartoonists and Gag Writers' Pro Magazine Apr/May 1962.
Just wanted to follow up on last month's Art Gates blog entry and show the above ad that I came across. As you can see, Art Gates, along with veteran talented cartoonist Gill Fox, started the syndicate in the early 1960s with a stable of their own family-friendly features; the usual lot of housebound housewives, contrary children and befuddled suburban men. I had heard of Gates Features, but had no idea of the cartoon features that they were promoting until I saw this. Oh heck, Gates and Fox WERE Gates Features!
