Interviewer: It's statistically easier to become an astronaut in this country than it is to get a comic strip in a newspaper.
Carlos Castellanos: So true.
Cartoonist Carlos Castellanos is interviewed by South Florida radio station WMXJ 102.7 "Majic in the Morning" radio show. He talks about the genesis of the Baldo newspaper strip, and his partner on the feature, Hector Cantu.
It was great to hear that co-host Donna Davis is a genuine fan. Her enthusiasm for the strip seemed genuine.
It's tiresome to hear the Vince Guaraldi music in the background. It's overused and, well, you know; it's Mr. Schulz' music.

Hey Mike, thanks for posting this I appreciate it. My kids thought it was really cool being at the station. : )

There's something else astronauts and comic strip cartoonists have in common...both are losing their investment base...the space program is losing funding and comics are losing newspapers. In both cases, sorry to say, there seems to be a growing black hole.
