Garden City, NY: On Friday, July 24th there will be a reception for a cartoon retrospective of Hank Syverson, as well as members of the National Cartoonists Society at the Pan Am Museum, which is on the third floor of the Cradle of Aviation Museum. My friend Adrian Sinnott, who runs the Berndt Toast Gang, is curating the gallery show which is scheduled to run for about two months.
Henry "Hank" Syverson (1918 - 2007) was a prolific cartoonist whose work appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Boys Life, and many other publications. One of his claims to fame is the "You Want It When?" poster. He was also busy with advertising, including Pan Am airlines.
