"Top Cat is an iconic and much-loved character known by nearly every parent in the UK," said Vertigo [Films'] Rupert Preston and Allan Niblo in January.
Vertigo Films, which, along with Anima Studios, are recreating TOP CAT for the 21st century, are entitled to their opinion. I can't say the same for the States. TOP CAT exists as a 30 episode animated TV series that's been in reruns for decades. I thought it was a throwaway of a show. I had no idea there was an active fan base, here or across the pond. Or that ticket buyers are going to gladly accept those dusty old jokes as seen in the above trailer.
What's next? A WHERE'S HUDDLES? THE IMAX EXPERIENCE IN 3D?

Grandparents might remember Top Cat from the early 1960's, but most parents of today's kids are much too young to have nostalgic affection for TC.
How have I not seen Where's Huddles!? Also, what the hell was Where's Huddles?!
