I'm curious to know more about her set-up there. I've considered a retail location with stuff to sell and me working on cartoons before, and this just whets my appetite.
The sales are once a year. I don't know what she does with all that space the rest of the time. This is a large former factory full of artists and they have an open studio each fall which, in a town like Northampton, is a big deal. We had to park in an adjoining lot that was quite full itself.
That said, it occurred to me that the stuff she does for this once a year gig is nicer than the Cafe Press semi-generic approach. But I'm not sure a local outlet approach works in cartooning, where your audience tends to be more global even in print.
