Along the Rhine, in the town of Basel, Switzerland is the Caricature & Cartoon Museum. The museum will exhibit original works by the cartoonist Sempé from November 8th until April 13, 2009.
Sempé's work is superb. The world of cartooning is not known for it's subtlety, but Sempé's humor is often understated, rapturously gorgeous, and poetic.
Some photos of the white board from the three cartooning classes I’m teaching this month. Very enthusiastic elementary school kids! I draw on the board and the kids copy me, step by step, as we go along.

I'm with you, Mike. I love Sempe's work.
He is the best. So charming, one wants to be in his world, riding along in that beautiful scene with no care in the world.

Casey and Benita: glad to see some fellow fans.
