The Stan Drake page seems like a page of poses done for his strip. Have you seen Dave Sim's examintation of photo-realistic strips in Glamourpuss? Some-one should get thos page to him.

That was fifty years ago when all papers had their own editorial cartoonists. What would Doerer think of today's market of mostly homogeneous cartoons for the syndicated market, where the majority of cartoonists have to please the lowest common denominator to make a living.
