There's so much to choose from that it's not easy to narrow it down. But I did want to include an example of Davis' book illustration style, which is distinctly different from his usual cartoon approach.
Also Flashback magazine, which Russ Jones and I edited in the early 1970s. All three issues had Davis covers. One showed Bogart holding a limp Woody Woodpecker, but I should have done a rough because my gag got lost when Russ described it to Davis and forgot to mention that it was supposed to be a statue of Woody Woodpecker (as a reference to The Maltese Falcon).
This is the way it was all semester, three classes of History of Comics and the History of Political Cartoons since August. The semester was shortened due to covid.
