OMG! I grew up [late 50's] sneaking looks at my dad's True, Argosy and Saga magazines to see the cartoons--and have loved VIP ever since. Thanks for this!
I'm not positive, but I think that Ger Apeldoorn's statement about VIP being Cartoon Editor of True is not accurate. As I remember, the Cartoon Editor was always Bill McIntyre. Bill was great friends with VIP and when he finally retired he went to California to join VIP in a business enterprise. At least that's how I recall it.
